What happens on a repair visit
A repair visit is about finding out what is genuinely wrong before anything gets replaced. Here is what that involves.

When a repair stops making sense
There is no fixed age at which a boiler should be replaced, but there are signals worth taking seriously. If the same component has failed twice, if parts are becoming difficult to source, or if the repair is approaching a meaningful share of the cost of a new unit, replacement usually works out better over a few years.
Efficiency comes into it too. A boiler fitted before condensing models became standard is working considerably harder than a modern one to produce the same heat, and that difference shows up on every bill through a Scottish winter.

Do you carry common parts on the van?+
Yes. We stock the components that fail most often, including pumps, valves, fans and sensors, so a good proportion of repairs are completed on the first visit.
Can you repair any make of boiler?+
We work on all the major domestic brands, including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant and Ideal. If a boiler is genuinely obsolete and parts are no longer made we will tell you honestly.
My boiler keeps losing pressure. Is that serious?+
It means water is escaping somewhere, so it is worth investigating rather than topping up week after week. The usual causes are a failed expansion vessel, a leaking valve or a pipe leak under the floor.
What does a fault code on the display mean?+
It is the boiler protecting itself and telling you which circuit it is unhappy about. Read the code out when you call, because it usually tells us what to bring with us.
Should I repair or replace an old boiler?+
